The Four Pillars Of A Successful Hustle (A Full-Time Writer’s Secret)
Hustle has become synonymous with working hard to reach your career goals, but this is only one fourth of the battle.
Having an incredible career is great, but it’s not great if you don’t have the health, relationships or happiness to enjoy it.
If you’re hustling for just your career, you’re doing it wrong. Really wrong.
Your hustle has to come in four forms:
- Career
- Health
- Relationships
- Happiness
You may think career, health, and relationships will contribute to your success-and this is true-but I’m talking about your happiness while you’re achieving all of this. I’ll get into that in a second.
The Career Hustle
What do you want to do so badly that you would sacrifice eating, sleeping and your sanity for it? That’s the career choice for you. If you’re lost about what career path to take, read this.
The Health Hustle
How much fun is it to be a millionaire if you don’t have the stamina to go on adventures and enjoy your lifestyle? Figure out your diet, your exercise routine and how to get yourself to total human optimization. Your body has to last you 80–100 years, treat it right.
The Relationship Hustle
Do you have at least five people who you could call that would help you out at a moments notice? If the answer is yes, you’re doing a great job. If the answer is no, start to rethink everything. The relationships with your family, friends, and partners is going to bring you love, new experiences, and a meaningful life. Don’t slack on it.
The Happiness Hustle
On a scale of 1–10, how happy are you right now? If your answer is 8 or higher, awesome. If your answer is 7 or lower, what do you need to fix right now to get yourself to an 8–10? Your happiness isn’t going to be delivered to you on a silver platter when your bank account hits seven-figures. Waiting to be happy later is an insane gamble. There is no, “I’ll only be happy when I get there.” There is only, “I am happy today because I am working towards my goals.”
These are the four pillars of a healthy hustle mindset. To hustle solely for your career is like using your iPhone to only make calls. It’s a wasted potential of a device that can map you from Hollywood to Venice, can track it’s own location after it’s lost, or video chat with someone across the world.
Hustle for your career, health, relationships, and happiness.
