Do you have a decision support system?

A decision support system is a go to process for analyzing data and bringing in your intuition to figure out the best path forward.

These researchers look at it as a 2 step process:

Step #1: Identify out what your intuition tells you is the right decision.

Step #2: Use the power of a computer to find supportive arguments against and for your intuition’s guidance

AI is the perfect thought partner for Step 2.

You can use AI for high complexity problems and tasks to help you reason, find logic, and analyze the data that tells you if you’re on the right track with this decision.

I wrote a prompt that you copy-and-paste into an AI chat (I suggest Claude) that will guide you through a conversation with your AI thought partner.

I used this prompt this week to work through a marketing strategy.

I started the conversation with the prompt and filled in two parts to personalize the conversations

  1. The decision I have to make (related to marketing strategy)
  2. Which direction my intuition is telling me to take
  • AI immediately asked for more information on my product and ideal customer.
  • Asked for data that showed how the current marketing channels were performing
  • Analyzed the data based on averages to tell me if my content was outperforming or not outperforming
  • Asked me how I’d tested different content types
  • Asked me what was keeping me from trying other specific platforms
  • Gave me two potential channels based on my requirement that I didn’t have to do short-form talking head videos

Every founder or marketer of an online businesses relies on intuition to guide their decisions (whether you realize it or not).

Psychology researchers define intuition as:

“Executive intuition is the skill of focusing on those potentially important, but sometimes faint signals that fuel imagination, creativity, and innovation and feed corporate success in globally competitive business environments.”

Using hybrid intelligence, founders and marketers can use AI as an intellectual thought partner that can also do the tedious work of analyzing data and figuring out, from a logical perspective, if your intuition is valid or not.
